Stop Smoking and see God

By Paul Gangnier

The title of this article may sound funny to you, and I admit it hits me as funny, too.  And no, I’m not smoking something.

This saying came up the other day because I had someone coming for a “stop-smoking” Hypnosis session. I told my friend Nicole about it, and we looked at each other and smiled, knowing that all my clients these days come for spiritual and personal growth, with very few for addictions.  I was sitting there, yearning to “show up” totally for my new client.

“I really want to do a great job for this client,” I said to my friend Nicole, “and I need to start mentally preparing myself.”

“They’re not coming for smoking!” she countered. “They’re coming because they want healing and need your help.”

“That’s it!” I exclaimed, “Stop smoking and see God!” We both laughed. When my client showed up, however, it was immediately apparent that it was all about spiritual and personal growth.

Yes, “Stop Smoking and see God.” How wonderful! Now you’re probably saying “I don’t smoke.” And I say, yes, you probably do. It’s not just about smoking cigarettes or pot, it’s about smoking our own excrement, quite frankly. We get stuck in it, we roll in it, and we think with it. When we’re caught up in the crud we’ve attached, such as false belief systems, conjured up modalities and concepts, and negative emotions, we cannot connect – plain and simple.

We have to get through the excess debris and see ourselves as God made us before we can grow further. You can conjure up all the distractions and stories you want – including spiritual beliefs, or whatever you like, but the fact is its all made up, blocking the way to experiencing the real you.

“Let Go & Let God” isn’t just a cliché saying.  It’s the simple truth.

Om for Organic Maui

By Mary Carol Breckenridge & Paul W. Gangnier

OM (regarded as three sounds, a-u-m) is a sacred Sanskrit mantra symbolic of three major Hindu deities (God or Goddess).  To many Om is the highest of all vibrations.

When I OM for Maui in my mind, this creates the highest intention and vibration for this island and myself. To me there is no higher and more loving thought than loving our land, the sea, universe and our self.

Organic has become a popular word for wholesomeness, natural, chemical free, nurtured, non-GMO and conservation. This was the lifestyle of our ancestors.

The concept of “OM for Organic Maui” represents the intention and focus to  motivate stores, companies, neighbors, friends and all people to awaken to how were treating our bodies, land, waters, skies and world.

OM – Support higher energy organically grown foods.

OM – Promote Greener lifestyles — solar energies and energy-efficient vehicles.

OM – Insist upon 100% recyclable consumables — Maui-made and imported.

OM – Practice all things that generate the flow of positive beneficial energy.

Support only companies and trades that advocate and practice respect and conservation of natural resources.

Awaken neighbors and friends to a greener way, showing them by example the potential for a better, cleaner, greener, healthier, happier world. We can do it.

This way of living takes intention, courage and action, requiring all of us to be teachers, leaders, thinkers and especially doers.

OM for Maui government. We do not need “progress” as in bigger faster roads nor another subdivision or mall.  Smaller roads, better mass transportation and meticulous planning, will enhance a more natural, culturally rich tropical Maui while encouraging more tourism and setting an important example for the world.

You can do it! We can do it! OM for Organic Maui!

True freedom

By Paul W. Gangnier

“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

My definition of Freedom is…   The ability of seeing that all things are gifts

When we discover that “all things are gifts” our perception shifts onto another level just as if we have opened the door to golden light.

I rediscover this over and over again in my mind by the intentional act of allowing the space for the universe, God, spirit, and all, to do its thing for me everyday in every way.  All I need to do is bring myself to a place of calm, peace, love, harmony, and acceptance.

Then allow.

True Freedom is not fought, bought, nor bargained for.

This is the old ego based paradigm and is not for me.

True Freedom is not when my ego feels free

It’s when my soul is free!

Being free of negative attachments while being connected to Source is my daily goal and practice.

Peace to the world

This I do pray

Heaven rain upon us

Rain it today

For all to have peace

Have it today

Peace I pray peace

Please make it today

Who had this True Freedom?.… Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, JR., Jesus, Gandhi, Paramahansa Yogananda, Dalai Lama,

Desmond Tutu, Mata Amirtanandamayi, Mother Teresa, to name only a few. So many have had this wonderful

Freedom love energy so ingrained in their beings that they had to release and

share it to all that would listen.

True Freedom for me is a soul choice!
